Cross Country Opens Season In Wyoming

CHEYENNE, Wyo. - The No. 18-ranked women's and No. 6-ranked men's Colorado cross country teams opened the 2026 season at the Wyoming Invitational, Friday evening at the Little America Golf Course.
Sophomore Ella Hagen and freshman Ty Cirino paced the Buffaloes at a meet that featured mostly Colorado's younger runners.
In his collegiate debut, Cirino led the Buffs with a time of 15 minutes, 33.15 seconds, finishing fifth overall in the men's 5-kilometer race. Fifth-year senior Charles Robertson finished seventh at 15:41.09.
Also making his collegiate debut, Carter Prater placed 18th with a time of 16:11.74. The trio helped Colorado finish third overall in the team race with 57 points.
In her second year as a Buff, Hagen led the charge with a team-best time of 17:57.64, placing second overall in the women's 5K race. Rowan Saacke made her collegiate debut, posting a time of 18:19.39 and placing third overall for women. The women did not record a team finish.
UP NEXT: Colorado will head to Terre Haute, Ind., for the John McNichols Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 19.
