SENIOR (2017): In her senior season, Hunt played in eight games as a defender for the Buffaloes. The senior was a reliable contributor whenever she entered the game; recording seven groundballs and two caused turnovers. Hunt played in both games against No. 16 Massachusetts and Stetson on Feb. 17 and 19, picking up one groundball in the 11-7 win over Massachusetts, and two groundballs against Stetson to help the Buffs go home 3-0 to start the season. She had one groundball and one caused turnover in the wins over Winthrop on March 15, and Fresno State on March 25. 
 
JUNIOR (2016): Hunt became significant contributor on CU’s defense as the season wore on, appearing in 10 games as a defender and making one start. She totaled three ground balls, three caused turnovers and one draw control. She made her first start of the year in the quarterfinals of the MPSF Tournament, an 11-3 win over Oregon where she had one draw control. During the season, she had ground balls against Central Connecticut, San Diego State and Saint Mary’s (Calif.), and caused turnovers against Central Connecticut, Marist and Saint Mary’s.
 
SOPHOMORE (2015): In her sophomore season, Hunt remained an important defensive player for CU. She played in four games and scooped up three ground balls. The Buffs earned victories in every game Hunt played in and she helped them to an 11-7 overall season. All three of her ground balls came as part of a 16-7 win over Fresno State on April 24 and she also caused a turnover in the game.
 
FRESHMAN (2014): Hunt started 17 of 18 games played her freshman season. She was an important defensive presence, causing 10 turnovers (ranking fifth on the squad) and scooping up 16 ground balls. Hunt had a strong debut, recording two ground balls and a season-high three caused turnovers in the Buffs’ inaugural game at Stetson. Hunt had a strong performance in the MPSF Tournament, matching a season-high three ground balls, winning two draws and causing a turnover.

HIGH SCHOOL: Hunt was a four-year letter-winner in three sports. In lacrosse, she helped Catonsville to back-to-back Maryland 4A Regional Championships in 2012 and 2013, after going .500 or under in her first two seasons with the team. Hunt received back-to-back All-Division I honors and was named the Catonsville Co-Athlete of the Year her senior season. She was also a three-time All-Academic selection. She spent seven years with the Diamonds Lacrosse Club. Hunt also played field hockey and basketball at Catonsville, helping the hoopers to a county championship in 2010.

IN THE CLASSROOM: Hunt majored in psychology.

PERSONAL: Mary Dorothy Hunt was born on August 14, 1995, to Rich and Shelly Hunt. She has worked as a nanny and camp counselor and hopes to become a neonatal intensive care nurse after college. She enjoys cooking. Her favorite food is salmon and her favorite group is the Zac Brown Band. She loves Baltimore sports teams. She enjoys the book To Kill a Mockingbird and the movie Finding Nemo. She chose CU for the great atmosphere of the college and the town.
