Career at Colorado—He ended his career after three honorable seasons with the Buffs where he earned six All-America honors (three first-team and three second-team) … A highly decorated athlete, both in competition and in the classroom where he graduated with a 3.961 GPA in finance, he raced in 37 collegiate races and finished in the top 10 36 times with 14 podium finishes and one race victory … His 14 podium finishes ranks as the 17th most in Colorado history.
 
2018 (Junior)—The national runner-up in the 10K classic race, double polling the entire way, he collected two more All-American honors … Earn a first-team nod for his runner up finish and a second-team honor for placing ninth in the 20K freestyle at the NCAA Championships … Was a first-team All-RMISA selection for the third-straight season … In 14 races, he was top 10 13 times and had six podium finishes … His second place finish in the 10K freestyle at the Denver Invitational matched his best career finish in the discipline … Was presented with the team’s Dick Schoenberger Memorial Award that has been issued out annually since 1963 to CU’s most outstanding skier … At the 26th Annual Student-Athlete Recognition Banquet on April 3, 2018, he was presented with the Morgan Family Buff Club Scholar-Athlete Award for having accumulated the highest cumulative grade point average in his class … The Pac-12 Conference presented him with the 2017-18 Tom Hansen Conference Medal, which awarded annually to each member institution's outstanding senior male and female student-athlete based on the exhibition of the greatest combination of performance and achievement in scholarship, athletics and leadership.

2017 (Sophomore)—He had an elite sophomore season, earning first-team All-American honors in both the classic and freestyle races after finishing fourth in both events at the NCAA Championships. He was a first-team All-RMISA selection and earned his second career RMISA Skier of the Week honor after the Montana State Invitational when he won the first race of his career (20K classical) and placed second in the 10K freestyle (top freestyle finish of his career). On the season he finished seventh or better in all 11 races and his five podium appearances were the most of any Buff on the men’s Nordic team. His first podium appearance of the season came in the classical sprints at the Utah Invitational to open the season. He followed that up with his award-winning Montana State Invitational and then in Alaska reached the podium again in the 10K classic race in the UAA Invitational. At the RMISA Championships, he came in third in the 20K freestyle skate and was fourth in the 10K classic. At the end of the school year he was one of four recipients of CU’s Ceal Barry Leadership Award, named for CU's legendary women's basketball coach and awarded to those student-athletes who most effectively inspires his or her team and the Colorado campus and community through exemplary commitment, composure and integrity.

2016 (Freshman)—He began his CU career with a bang, competing in 11 of the 12 races on the season and finishing in the top nine all 11 times. He had six top five finishes with three podium appearances. All three podiums were runner-up finishes in classic races at the Montana State Invitational, the New Mexico Invitational and the RMISA Championships. He earned two second-team All-America performances at the NCAA Championships held in Steamboat Springs, taking sixth in the freestyle and ninth in the classic race. He attempted to double-pole the entire 20K classic race and was leading past the halfway point on the final day of NCAA Championships and still held on for a top 10 finish. He was named first-team All-RMISA and was the RMISA Skier of the Week for the Montana State Invitational. He was a finalist for the CU CUSPY for the Male Freshman of the Year award.

Prior to CU—Reistad has skied for Baerums Verk Sports Club since the beginning of his career ... He participated in FIS Junior World Championships in 2014 at Val di Fiemme, Italy and there he won one gold and one bronze medal ... He won seven medals in the Norwegian Championships through his career ... In 2014, he placed third, overall in the Norwegian Cup.

High School—Reistad graduated from Nadderud Upper Secondary School in Oslo, Norway in June 2013.

In the Classroom—Graduated from CU in May 2018 with his bachelor’s degree in Finance … Was a three-time selection to the National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team, which is essentially an Academic All-America honor in skiing.

Personal—Petter Reistad was born May 29, 1994, in Trondheim, Norway … His two brothers are professional handball athletes in Norway … His great grandfather, Ole Reistad, won a gold medal in the 1928 Winter Olympics in the demonstration event military patrol ... Ole was the Norwegian flag bearer at the opening ceremony and he also competed at the 1920 Summer Olympics in the pentathlon, finishing 14th, and became a Norwegian champion in the sport ... During World War II, he was a leader of the training base, Little Norway, in Toronto, Canada.
