Freshman (2006): Choun made seven appearances and one start as a midfielder during her freshman season. She scored one goal, had one assist and five shot attempts in 158 minutes. She earned her first career assist in a 4-0 win over Alabama on Aug. 27. She scored her first career goal in the 35th minute of a 3-1 win over Mississippi on Sept. 3.
High School: Choun lettered three years at R.S. Central high school before missing her senior year after graduating early to start training with CU in the spring. Choun was back-to-back MVP of her varsity team her freshman and sophomore years and received first-team all-conference honors as a freshman, sophomore and junior. R.S. Central was 50-11-2 with Choun on the pitch, and she finished her high school career with 36 goals and 29 assists. Choun played club ball for Charlotte Soccer Club’s 87 Ladies Blue, the 2000, 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006 State Cup and 2005 Greensboro NIKE Cup Champions. Choun also helped her USL Super Y League team win the league championship as well as earn second place in the National Championships. Choun was also a member of the 2001 and 2003 ODP State pool and was a Region III camp alternate in 2003 and 2005.
In the Classroom: Choun is a Business major at CU and is also interested in Culinary Arts.
Personal: Sarah Caitlin Choun was born Dec. 19, 1987 in Boulder, Colo. She is the daughter of Stephen and Carol Choun and the older sister of Davis (14). Her father, Stephen, played football at Colorado from 1971-72. Her hobbies include cooking and she would love to own a restaurant after graduating from college.
