  • Played in all 12 games in 2023, starting in six. He started the first four games of the season.
  • Registered 76 carries for 321 yards and one touchdown on the ground. While adding 36 receptions for 299 receiving yards and four touchdowns. 
  • Set the school record for most receiving yards and touchdowns by a running back with 135 yards and three touchdowns.
  • He tied the school record for receiving touchdowns in a game with three, the first time done since 2018.
  • Edwards had CU’s first touchdown of the season, making him the first true freshman to have the first points of the season since 2002.
  • Edwards is the first player in seven seasons to score four touchdowns from scrimmage in his FBS debut, and just the fourth true freshman to do so in the past 27 seasons.
  • Edwards is the first true freshman to score four touchdowns nationally in any game since Devin Neal scored four for Kansas against Texas on 11/13/21. No true freshman scored four touchdowns in a game in 2022.

  • Added 40 receptions for 556 yards and seven touchdowns, 15 kickoff returns for 521 yards and three touchdowns, and 16 punt returns for 441 yards and three touchdowns.  In all he had 7,944 all-purpose yards and 108 touchdowns.  
  • Senior season Derby was 9-3 and he rushed 203 times for 1,900 yards and 11 touchdowns, catching 15 passes for 227 yards and three touchdowns, returning five kickoffs for 145 yards and one touchdown, and four punts for 134 yards and one touchdown, racking up 2,127 all-purpose yards and 37 touchdowns.

  • Against East in a 63-14 win, he scored all seven touchdowns, running the ball 19 times for 226 yards and five scores, catching one pass for a 46-yard touchdown and returning one punt for 66 yards and a touchdown.  
  • He hit the 400-yard mark for all-purpose yards against Maize in a 42-41 win, rushing 27 times for 266 yards and three touchdowns, catching a 35-yard pass, and returning three kickoffs for 109 yards.  
  • Became the starting running back early in his sophomore season, helping Derby to a 9-2 record and second straight Kansas 6A State Championship. 
  • Sophomore season he rushed the ball 206 times for 1,833 yards and 25 touchdowns, hitting the 100-yard mark in nine of 11 games and 200-plus four times.   
  • Added 16 receptions for 204 yards and two touchdowns, four kickoffs for 119 yards and five punt returns for 54 yards, giving him 2,210 all-purpose yards and 28 touchdowns.
