2021-22 (Senior): Played in two games, appearing in the final minutes of the home wins over Maine (11/15) and Oregon State (2/5). Recorded his first collegaite steal against the Black Bears.
2020-21 (Junior): Appeared in one contest, playing the final minute of the home win over California (1/14)
2019-20 (Sophomore): Played in two games for a total of three minutes. Saw two minutes against Iona (12/29) and played the final minute against Utah (1/12).
2018-19 (Freshman): Played in six games, making his collegiate debut in the win over Drake (11/13). Joined the program as a walk-on in the fall of 2018.
High School: A 2018 graduate of Kent Denver High School. Helped the Sun Devils to a 19-5 record as a senior and a spot in the Colorado Class 3A Sweet 16. He was a three-year starter at Kent Denver, leading the team in assists and was second in rebounding. Ersek also played tennis for the Sun Devils.
Academics: Graduated from Colorado with his bachelor's degree in Business Management in May 2022.
Personal: Born Benan Ersek on Dec. 1, 1999, in Vienna. He is the son of Hikmet and Nayantara Ersek and has one sister, Aina. Ersek lived in Vienna until his family moved to Colorado when he was in middle school. His father played basketball professionally in Turkey and Austria and also has an uncle and cousin who played overseas. He enjoys golf, traveling and languages. His favorite teams are the Denver Nuggets and Liverpool F.C. in the Premier League. Chose to come to Colorado “because I can do the most for this school, and it can do the most for me.”
