At Colorado: 2023 (Fr.)—Ruled a freshman because Colorado Mountain College is not an NCAA team, Reich took advantage of his second season on the RMISA circut and first with the Buffaloes by finishing five of 11 races with one top 20 performance, which came at the CU Invitational.  He improved steadily throughout the season, improving in each of his first four finished races, first with a 40th place finish at the Westminter Inviational and then moving up to 29th, 27th and then hitting the top 20 at CU.  He also got it done in the classroom being named to the National Collegaite All-Academic Ski Team and earning a letter for the Buffaloes.  He also participated in the World University Games in Lake Placid in January. 

At Colorado Mountain College—Reich raced one season for Colorado Mountain College, a non-NCAA member of the RMISA.  He skied in all 12 races throughout the regular season and RMISA Championships, finishing eight of those races with one top 20 performance and three other finishes between 20-25.  His best finish was 19th in the slalom at Montana State and his top GS performance was back-to-back 22nd places at the Denver Invitatoinal and preceding RMISA Qualifier race.  He scored points for CMC four times, finishing in the top three on the team, in his eight finishes.  

Prior To College—Reich has skied competitively since 2008 for several racing clubs around the state, including Team Summit (2008-15), Front Range Ski Club (2010-15), Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club (2016-19), and Ski Club Vail (2020-21). Whie at SSWSC, he attended numerous development camps … He won the overall junior championship, was selected to the OPA Cup Team and participated at the Longines Future Ski Championships, where he placed fourth. He was also given the Spencer Nelson All-Star Award in 2018, named after the former Buff who died in a hiking accident just prior to his sophomore season at CU. 

High School—He graduated from Steamboat Mountain School, in Steamboat Springs, Colo., in 2020. Before moving away from Denver for high school, he played lacrosse at a high level for several years. He was named SMS’s Competitive Athlete Award for Ski Racing.  

In The Classroom—He intends to major in Business at Colorado. In high school he won several academic awards including the Lowell Whiteman Award, the Presidential Student Academic Award, and the Science Department Academic Award. 

Personal—Jack Henry Reich was born June 10, 2002 in Denver. His parents are Bob and Denise Reich and he has two older sisters, Lindsey and Molly. Molly plays soccer at Johns Hopkins. He enjoys Mountain Biking, Road biking, Golf and Backcountry Skiing. 

Why Colorado?—”I chose Colroado because the school provides countless opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. T he environment and surrounding culture surrounding the school drew me in.  When I found out I had the opportunity to combine dmy passion for ski racing at the school of my choice i coudln’t not have been happier.
