At Colorado: Career—Dilling has established himself as one of the best collegiate skiers early in his career at CU, and has finished each of his 23 races through two years in Boulder, finishing all but one inside the top 10 with 17 top 10 and eight top five performances, including five podium appearances and one race win.

2023 (So.)—Dilling started his sophomore season on a tear as one of the top skiers in the RMISA, earning five top four finishes in his first five races, which included a win, two seconds and four overall podiums.  The one race he finished outside the top 20 he was third after the first run in a slalom race at the Westminster Invitational in the second race of the season but had to hike on his second run.  He took third in the first race as part of the Griffins’ meet.  He then got his first race win in an RMISA Qualifier ahead of the CU Invitational and took second and fourth in the other two GS races as part of the CU meet.  He continued his dominance by taking second in the first slalom as part of the DU Invitational before taking 11th in the second race there.  He then battled back issues the rest of the season and missed the Alaska series before returning for NCAA Championships.  A small mistake in the first run of the GS race put him in 22nd place but after throwing down the second-fastest second run, he moved up nine spots to finish 13th.  He then took 15th in the slalom race two days later helping the Buffs to a second-place team finish.  Adding to his early season accomplishments was a bronze medal in the men’s slalom race at the World University Games in Lake Placid.  He is also getting it done in the classroom making CU’s 4.0 Club while also earning mention on the National All-Academic Ski Team, the CSC Academic All-District Team and the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll.  He was also honored with the Dick Schoenberger Award at the team banquet at season’s end.

2022 (Fr.)—Dilling quickly established himself as one of the top skiers in the nation as a freshman as he finished all 14 possible races including the NCAA Championships.  He was the only skier in the RMISA to finish 14 races on the season.  His lowest finish was 15th after other than a pair of 12th place finishes, he finished in the top 10 in 11 of his 14 races with three top five finishes and one podium appearance.  His seventh place slalom finish at the NCAA Championships made him a second-team All-American.  He was named second-team All-RMISA and wa sa finalist for the CU Male Freshman of the Year at the CUSPY awards.  He was the RMISA Skier of the Meet for the Denver Invitational when he took second in the GS and sixth in the slalom, and he was named the CU Athlete of the Week for the same performances.  He opened his career with an eighth place finish in the GS at the Montana State Invitational despite starting 33rd.  In the next race, he started 30th in the slalom race and finished 15th.  He then moved his way up the start point list and had better starting position the remainder of the season.  He had a pair of top six finishes at the Utah Invitational, taking sixth in the GS and a season-best fourth place in the slalom.  He finished the season especially strong in slalom races, taking fifth at the RMISA Championships, sixth in an extra qualifier after the RMISA Championships and seventh at the NCAA Championships.  He was also named to the National All-Academic Ski Team for maintaining above a 3.5 GPA.

Prior To CU—Dilling has skied for the Ski & Snowboard Club Vail since 2008 and also skied for one season for Opportunity Racing and on the U.S. Ski Team for two years. He qualified for the Junior World Ski Championships his last two years as a junior and he had one top 20 in a slalom race at Val di Fassa in 2019.  He was given awards by VSSC as the most committed and most improved younger athlete in the club.  He was nominated for the Willy Schaeffler Award at the U-19 National Championships.  He has 97 career stars at the continental cup level, most at on the Nor-Am Cup circuit but also five starts on the European Cup.  His best continental cup finish is sixth in the slalom at Mont Edouard in 2020, where he also took 10th in another slalom race.  He has competed at the U.S. National Championships since 2016 and also at the Italian National Championships in 2021.  He took fourth in the slalom and seventh in the GS at the 2020 U.S. National Championships in Copper Mountain, while also taking seventh in the GS at the Italian National Championships at Pozza di Fassa.  In all, he has more than 350 starts in FIS races dating back to November of 2015 in his hometown of Vail.  In total, he has 153 top 30 finishes with 57 top 10 performances including 10 podiums.  His 10 podiums include four wins, two runner-ups finishes and six third-place performances.  He has two wins each in slalom and GS.
