Prior to CU—Pedersen trained with Hovden Sportsklubb, where he was coached by Lars Svaland for four years. He won Norwegian junior championships in both sprint and relay events and was a member of the Norwegian Junior National Team in 2023–24. He comes to CU with 113.3 FIS distance points and 159.3 FIS sprint points. He broke through in 2023 with a victory in the junior 1.3-kilometer freestyle sprint at Voss. That same season, he added a second-place finish in the 15-kilometer classical mass start at Lillehammer. His 2024–25 highlights included a third-place finish in the 10-kilometer freestyle at Lillehammer, along with multiple top-10 results in Norway’s competitive junior fields. He has six Norwegian National Championship starts dating from 2022–25.
