Kelsey Loop in 2007
Kelsey Loop added depth in CU’s lineup on the outside last season. Her passion for the sport brings excitement to the gym everyday.
As a Sophomore in 2006
Loop played in seven games as a sophomore. She made her Colorado debut against Central Connecticut State (9/8) recording five kills and hitting .222. She also added one dig and a block assist. Loop made her biggest impact of the season against Baylor (10/18) with four kills and one dig. She also hit .231.
At Wyoming
Loop was one of UW’s top performers as a freshman in 2005. She played in 27 of the Cowgirls’ 28 matches and started in 14. Loop averaged 2.48 kills per game, which was second on the team, and hit .145. She amassed 223 kills for the third highest amount on the squad. During the conference season, Loop averaged 2.64 kills per game. She hit a career-high 17 kills against New Mexico (10/20) and attacked at a .500 percentage during the second meeting against UNM (11/19).
High School
Kelsey Loop was a four-time all-conference selection. During her freshman year, she received all-state honorable mention honors. In 2004, her senior year, she was named the Arkansas Valley Chisholm Trail Most Valuable Player and was the team captain. Loop helped her squad to a record of 72-7 as a junior and senior, helping the team win the AVCTL Championship twice and a 4A sub-state championship in 2003. Loop was named to every all-tournament team her senior season and was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball. She owns the single season records in kills (410) and aces (99). Loop was a member of the Wichita Jets club team, which finished second in 2002 at nationals. She received First Team USAV All-Tournament honors. Loop also lettered in softball and track & field.
Personal
Born Kelsey Loriene Loop on May 31, 1987 in Newton, Kan. Her parents are Gary and Margo Loop and she has one sister, Meryl. Her mother Margo played softball and was a swimmer at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. After college, Loop would like to play professional beach volleyball and be an anesthesiologist. Her hobbies are camping and fishing and she loves big trucks and takes her jeep mudding.
Academics
Loop is an integrated physiology major at Colorado. In high school she was a member of the honor roll.
