2019 Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team
FIFTH YEAR (2022): Started in all 17 games… Led CU in caused turnovers with 15… Finished with 41 draw controls, 12 of those coming in the matchup against Oregon (4/22) … scored her first career goal against Oregon (4/22).
SENIOR (2021): Started in nine of the 11 games played … part of a defense that held its opponents to 10.93 goals per game, which was second in the Pac-12 … helped CU clear at the nation’s fourth-best clearing percentage (92.7), which led the conference … recorded eight ground balls, nine caused turnovers and six caused turnovers … earned a season-best three draw controls twice; once against Denver (Feb. 28) and once against USC (May 6) in the Pac-12 semi-final game … forced a pair of caused turnovers against Louisville (Feb. 18) and did it again against Stanford (May 8) in the Pac-12 Tournament Championship game.
JUNIOR (2020): Started all five games … was a huge part of CU’s defense that held its opponents to 10.20 goals per game, the 23rd best mark in the NCAA and the second-best in the Pac-12 … had at least one caused turnover in every game except against Oregon (3/6), but that is because CU’s offense kept possession of the ball most of the time … in that game she recorded two ground balls and a career-high three draw controls ... in the final contest of the shortened season, she recorded a pair of caused turnovers against Coastal Carolina (3/8).
SOPHOMORE (2019): Had a breakout sophomore campaign ... did not play in the season opener but started in the remaining 18 games ... CU’s defense held its opponents to 10.26 goals per game, which was 23rd in the NCAA ... during the season, she recorded 19 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers ... had a great game against Michigan (2/24), recording a career-best four ground balls and at the time, a career-high three caused turnovers ... recorded three caused turnovers a second time against Oregon (3/23) ... in the Pac-12 Tournament semi-final game against Stanford (4/26), she made four caused turnovers.
FRESHMAN (2018): Did not compete.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from William Penn Charter School in 2017 … lettered in lacrosse, soccer, swimming and track … played the last two lacrosse seasons under Colleen Magarity, who coached at CU for two seasons ... named the team’s MVP following her senior season … in the span of her four-year career, tallied over 100 goals ... named a first-team All-Inter-Ac in 2017 … was a second-team honoree as a junior … earned the Girls Inter-Ac Outstanding Athletic Award as a senior … excelled academically as an honor student.
CLUB TEAM: Played club for Quaker City from 2014-16.
IN THE CLASSROOM: Earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and is pursuing a second bachelor’s degree in art practices … minoring in business and education.
PERSONAL: Born September 18, 1998, in Philadelphia, Pa. … her father, Rick, played football at Penn and was the inspiration for the ‘Coach Mellor’ character on the ABC comedies ‘The Goldbergs’ and ‘Schooled’ … Mellor’s grandfather, Ira, was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles and also played for the N.Y. Giants baseball team ... her favorite professional team is the Atlanta Falcons as Matt Ryan, the 2016 NFL’s Most Valuable Player, is a family friend ... she enjoys baking, pottery and boxing.
