Travis Larson joined the Colorado strength and conditioning department in 2017. He began working with the sprinters and field events athletes in CU’s track and field program as well as the women’s soccer and tennis teams. In the fall of 2021, he started working with the cross country team and now oversees all of the track and field team’s strength and conditioning needs.
Larson brought four years of experience as a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level when he started at CU. He began at Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2014. After graduating from MSU with his bachelor’s degree in exercise science, he moved on to the University of Nebraska and was the assistant strength and conditioning coach for Olympic sports, with an emphasis on soccer and track and field. At UNL, he developed, coached and individualized programs for multi- and pole vault athletes on the track and field team and collected and communicated Catapult GPS data with soccer.
He earned his master’s degree in exercise science from NU in 2017. Larson has many certifications which include: NSCA – CSCS, American Red Cross first aid, CPR and AED, RPR – Level 1 and is trained in myokinematics and postural respiration from the Postural Restoration Institute.
A native of Beresford, S.D., Larson and his wife, Kristina, have a baby boy. Lane. In his spare time, he enjoys weightlifting, reading, hiking and snowboarding.
