COLORADO PREVAILS IN FIVE FOR SECOND STRAIGHT MATCH

CU improves to 15-7 overall, matching its win total for the entire 2002 season (15-15). The Buffs move to 7-5 in the Big 12, just two wins shy of last season's league total of nine. ISU falls to 10-13 overall, 2-10 in the Big 12.
Down 2-1 in the match, CU fought back from a 24-18 deficit in game four to force the fifth and deciding game. CU trailed 7-6 in game five, but scored seven of the next eight points to go up 13-8. Sophomore Maragda Santillana forced match-point with a kill and freshman setter Ashley Nu'u closed the match with a block.
Much like the KU match, Santillana was the offensive star for CU. Santillana led all players in kills with 20, hit .432 (20 kills-four errors-37 attempts) and recorded the double-double by notching 11 digs. Against KU, Santillana netted a career-best 24 kills.
Sophomores Nicole Carr and Allie Griffin each had double-doubles. Carr, who notched her team high 12th double-double, had 13 kills and a team-high 13 digs.
Freshman Austin Zimmerman tied a career-high with seven blocks, which she ironically recorded against
