COLLEGE STATION,
The Buffaloes fall to 9-4 overall, 1-2 in the Big 12 while the Aggies move to 9-3 overall, 1-1 in league play.
Texas A&M took advantage of 13 services aces in the closely fought match. Aggie junior Melissa Munsch had six services aces to lead the way. In addition, the Buffs had 12 service errors, adding up to a total of 25 points in the Aggies favor in a match that saw no team win the final four games by more than four points.
'We had two service errors in game five as well as two zero passes (reception errors) which account for four points right there,' CU head coach Pi'i Aiu said. 'That's a hard deficit to come back from in a fifth game.'
CU played strong offensively the entire night finishing with a solid .290 hitting percentage. The Buffaloes had 88 kills, compared to 68 for Texas A&M, with 28 errors on 207 attacks.
Sophomore Allie Griffin had a career night for the Buffs.
'Our kids played well,' Aiu said. 'We out hit them in game five, we just didn't control the ball when we had it in our own hands. That is something we're going to have to learn.
CU will return home to play
