CU to Host Air Force on Sunday

BOULDER – The Colorado women's tennis team returns to Boulder for its home match against Air Force this weekend on Sunday, Feb. 4. The match will be held at the Rocky Mountain Tennis Center with first serve set for 11 a.m. MT.
The Buffaloes improved to 2-0 last weekend with a dominant performance over the Northern Colorado Bears in Greeley, Colo. In the 7-0 win, CU was able to win each of its match-ups in straight sets.
Colorado's Brigitte Beck, a junior, was particularly dominant in contributing to the team with a win in doubles play with partner Chloe Hule by taking down UNC's Sarina Chhabra and Carrigan Blanchard, 6-1. In singles play, Beck defeated Carrigan Blanchard of UNC, 6-0, 6-3. Beck is undefeated so far this season, 2-0 in both singles and doubles play.
Junior Ilana Oleynik is also undefeated in both doubles in singles play so far this season (2-0 in singles, 1-0 in doubles).
Air Force is 2-0 this season having defeated both Grand Canyon and Southern Utah, 6-1. The Falcons were scheduled to play at Northern Colorado on Jan. 21, but the match was postponed due to the government shutdown at the time.
AFA's roster features a host of youth with just three upperclassmen (one senior, two juniors) and six lower classman (two sophomores and four freshmen).
The Falcons host Metro State on Saturday, Feb. 3, before traveling to Boulder on Sunday.
