No. 21 Colorado Wraps up Road Swing at ISU: Five Things to Know

AMES, Iowa — The No. 21 Colorado Buffaloes continue its reunion tour across the Big 12 on Sunday, closing the weekend with a visit to Iowa State.

Colorado (8-1-0, 2-0-0 Big 12) is off to a strong start in Big 12 Conference play, opening with a pair of one-goal decisions on the road at Kansas State and No. 12 Oklahoma State. CU's win over the Cowgirls on Thursday was its first-ranked win of the season.

Iowa State (3-4-2, 1-0-0 Big 12) had its last match cut short and ruled a no-contest against UCF on Thursday. The Cyclones' lone Big 12 win came in a 1-0 decision at Kansas.

Five Things to Know

Colorado enters Sunday tied for the longest winning streak in the nation. The Buffs and the Cal Bears have each won seven consecutive matches. It's tied for the fifth-longest winning streak in CU history.
Sophomore Hope Leyba moved into a tie with Shyra James for the team lead in both goals (5) and points (11) on Thursday. She has surged past her numbers from last season (2 G, 1A).
Freshman Jace Holley has scored in back-to-back games for the Buffs. She is third on the team in goals this season (3). All three of her tallies have been game-winners as she leads the Big 12 and ranks 9th in the NCAA in game-winning goals.
Sunday will be CU's first visit to Ames since 2008. The Buffs are 14-2-1 all-time against ISU, having last played in Boulder in 2018. Colorado is 14-2-1 all-time against the Cyclones.
Jordan Nytes had her shutout streak come to an end with a school-record 583:33 minutes of scoreless play. She leads the Big 12 and is third in the NCAA with six shutouts this season.
