March 04, 2025 | Lacrosse
The Buffs will match up with their third Big Ten team this season for their second-straight home game
BOULDER – The Colorado lacrosse team (1-3, 0-0 Big 12) competes in its second of five-straight home games, this time against No. 5 Michigan (4-1, 0-0 Big Ten) on Saturday, Mar. 8, at Kittredge Field at 12 p.m. MT.
This will be the Buffs' third matchup with a Big Ten team this season and fifth game against an IWLCA-ranked opponent. Colorado faced Michigan last season on the road and fell, 13-8 (Mar. 3, 2024). Though the Buffs are battling a four-game losing streak against the Wolverines, they won the first three meetings with them – winning by as many as 10 goals in 2018 (20-10, Feb. 9) and as few as one in the teams' first-ever meeting in 2015 (14-13 2OT, Mar. 22).
Colorado recorded its first win of the season in its home opener against then-No. 25 Army West Point in the IPF last Friday, Feb. 28. This was the Buffs' first time playing Army and its first time beating a Patriot League opponent. CU moves to 9-3 in home openers, and this was the Buffs' 20th win over an IWLCA-ranked opponent.
Two Buffs earned Big 12 weekly awards for the first time this season. Junior defender Jess Peluso was awarded Defensive Player of the Week, and freshman goalkeeper Elena Oh received Goalkeeper of the Week. Read more about their performances and awards here.
