Sincere Brown

Brown Follows In Footsteps Of Weaver, Horn Jr.

BOULDER -- Sincere Brown had a favorite college football team a season ago: Colorado.

Brown has always been an admirer of Colorado's renowned coaching staff. On top of that, he witnessed two former South Florida teammates, and current NFL wide receivers, thrive during their time in Boulder.

When he entered the transfer portal last winter after two seasons at Campbell with one left to play, he knew Colorado was the place he wanted to be.

"I had a couple of guys I went to USF with, Jimmy Horn and Xavier Weaver," Brown said. "I was there with those guys, and as I entered the transfer portal and was making a decision, I was talking to them throughout the process."

Brown joined the Buffaloes, eager to be part of a program led by a Hall of Fame coaching staff.

"Kind of watching them last year a lot, I was watching the games. I was watching the type of content that they had out, and the Hall of Fame coaching staff is unbelievable. I have never seen a bunch of gold jackets in one place. That's unbelievable to me."

Comparing himself to Randy Moss, Brown describes his game as fast, versatile, and dynamic. He takes pride in his ability to run routes, high-point the ball, and make plays when it matters most.

However, his early practices at Colorado didn't go as planned. Facing the challenges of acclimating to the new environment, higher expectations, and a competitive receiving room, Brown had to adjust and learn from his mistakes quickly.

Overcoming Adversity
Reflecting on his journey, Brown acknowledges the adversity he faced before last season. Despite the challenges, he remained focused and determined, trusting that God would lead him to the opportunities he desired.

"I went through a lot of adversity before last year," Brown said. "In that process of time, I really just had to kind of put my head down and just keep my eye on the prize the whole way through."
"You know, God gave me the results that I wanted, and I ended up here in Colorado."

The talent in the wide receiver room is unlike anything Brown has encountered before. From veterans to freshmen, each player brings their own unique skills and abilities, creating a highly competitive environment.

Embracing the competition, Brown believes that being a "dog" on the field means being able to excel at any level, regardless of the opponent.

Adapting to Change
Transitioning to a new team and environment is never easy, but Brown has been impressed by Colorado quarterbacks Kaidon Salter and Julian Lewis.

Salter's wisdom and ability to facilitate the game, combined with Lewis' natural talent and accuracy, make them formidable players. Brown is confident that both quarterbacks have what it takes to succeed at the college level.

For Brown, an All-Coastal Athletic Association First Team pick at wide receiver in 2024, standing out among his talented teammates comes down to being himself. With his unique combination of size, speed, and athleticism, he aims to create mismatches against defenders.

"Obviously, he's learning what the expectation of being here is," Colorado wide receivers coach Jason Phillips said. "He's continuing to mature in that area, and so far, so good. If he continues to do that and eliminate some of the mental mistakes, I think we'll be pleased with what we have in Sincere."

Faith and Perseverance

His faith, perseverance, and determination have brought him to this point, and he is ready to seize the opportunities that lie ahead.

Colorado has become more than just a favorite college football team for Brown; it is now his home, where he can continue to grow and make an impact on and off the field.
