Givens, Hagen Pace Buffs in Season Opener at Wyoming Invite

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Colorado cross country program opened its 2025 season with a strong showing at the Wyoming Invite on Saturday, as Isaiah Givens and Ella Hagen paced the Buffaloes at the Little America Golf Course.
Women's Race
In her collegiate debut, Hagen led Colorado with a race-best time of 17:54.34 on the 5-kilometer course. Fellow freshman Linda Weigang, also in her Buffs debut, finished in 18:06.81, followed by Holly Barker (18:18.57) in her first collegiate race. The trio helped Colorado place second overall with 44 points against Wyoming, Northern Colorado and Colorado State. Men's Race
Givens led the Buffs with a time of 15:01.99, one of five Colorado runners to finish in the top six as the men secured the team title. He was followed by Jake Liebert (15:08.53), James Overberg (15:08.86), Grady Rauba (15:13.61) and Dean Casey (15:16.18). Running unattached, freshman TJ Hansen (15:18.21) also broke 15:30. The Buffs are back in action next week, running under the lights at the Gig Leadbetter Stampede hosted by Colorado Mesa on Friday, Sept. 5, at Lincoln Park in Grand Junction.
