Colorado Track & Field Splits Squad for Weekend Meets

BOULDER – Colorado track and field will split its squad this weekend, hosting the Jerry Quiller Classic at Potts Field while distance athletes travel to the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, April 3-4.

The Jerry Quiller Classic will begin Friday, April 3, at 2:00 p.m. with the women's hammer throw and men's javelin. Competition will continue Saturday, April 4, with the first event, the women's 3000m steeplechase, starting at 11:10 a.m.Â
Danny Tragarz will compete in the 400m hurdles at home after running the No. 4 all-time mark in program history and the No. 12 time in the NCAA last weekend.
The Stanford Invitational will begin Friday, April 3, at 6:00 p.m. MT, with heats and event times still TBD.Â
Avery Pearson will make her outdoor debut for the Buffs, marking her first race back since competing at the World Athletics Indoor Championships for Team Canada. Kole Mathison, who qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 3000m steeplechase last year, will make his 2026 steeple debut.
The Stanford Invitational will feature some of the best teams in the country, promising competitive and exciting races throughout the meet as the squad looks to lock in NCAA regional qualifying marks.
