Buffs Prepared For Chevron Silverado Showdown

April 05, 2026 | Women's Golf

BOULDER — Colorado women's golf visits its home away from home this week as the Buffaloes co-host the 2026 Chevron Silverado Showdown, April 6-8, at the Silverado Resort and Spa North Course in Napa, Calif.

This year marks the 12th edition of the 54-hole event co-hosted with Oregon and the fourth season with Chevron as the title sponsor. The tournament will consist of three days of 18-holes on the par-72 Silverado North Course which will play at a max of 6,146 yards.

"We are so proud to call this tournament ours, and I am extremely grateful to (former Colorado head coach) Anne Kelly's foresight to start this tournament on a PGA Tour course," Colorado head coach Madeleine Sheils said. "It's always in phenomenal shape and it's nice to play a three-day event as we head toward the postseason."

The Chevron Silverado Showdown will feature 16 teams, including seven ranked in the latest Scoreboard Top 50 rankings. Southern California is the top-ranked team in the field at No. 2, with co-host Oregon coming in at No. 5.

No. 48-ranked Colorado, whose resume includes two tournament wins and a runner-up finish, is competing as a team for the first time since a ninth-place finish at the GameAbove Invitational at Rolling Hills just less than a month ago. During that time, the Buffaloes have maintained a competitive tone in their training.

Colorado's last few weeks of training was highlighted by a spring break trip to Greensboro, Ga., at Reynolds Lake Oconee golf courses. The Buffaloes worked heavily on their short game on fast greens, and spent a lot of time working on course management, something that will continue to be a focus in Napa.

"Just knowing how and where to play to the correct side is so important," Sheils said. "We've had all this time and with the trip to Georgia, we've been able to get a lot of qualifying rounds in. Having six competitive rounds in the last couple of weeks, the team is feeling competitive and very much in a scoring mode which is exactly where we want to be this time of year.

All seven Colorado golfers will make the trip to Napa, led by the Buffaloes' top three in terms of scoring average. Junior Carolyn Fuller tops the Buffaloes with a 73.04 stroke average and is coming off 12th place finish at the GameAbove Invitational with a spring-best 1-over-par score. Sophomore Ellen O'Shaughnessy, who holds the Buffaloes' low 54-hole score in three of four spring season events, ranks second in scoring average (73.50) and has five top 20 finishes this season. Freshman Teemapat Pateetin is averaging 73.78 on the season with nine rounds of par or better.

Junior Maya McVey and freshman Ananthi Vivek will round out Colorado's team competitors. Vivek will make her debut in the team lineup. She has played eight rounds as an individual this season, but is coming off her best performance of the season. Vivek played as an individual at Northern Arizona's Red Rocks Invitational, March 13-15, tying for 15th overall at 5-over, highlighted by a career-best 70 in the final round.

"I'm beyond thrilled that Ananthi has worked her way into the lineup," Sheils said. "She has just worked so tirelessly on her game this entire year and actually getting to see that work pay off and translate into lower scores is so rewarding for her. I'm just so thrilled to see it happen and I can't wait to watch her shine."

Vanessa Ngo and Brenna Higgins will play as individuals.

Colorado will join USC, Oregon and No. 45 Oregon State to open Monday's first round with those groups beginning off the first tee at 10:42 a.m.
