EUGENE, Ore. – Colorado track and field opened competition Wednesday afternoon at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field.

Kole Mathison and Danny Tragarz both concluded impressive seasons on the opening day of competition. 

Mathison placed 19th in the men's 3k steeplechase with a time of 8:38.18, while Tragarz finished 19th in the men's 400m hurdles in 51.47.

Colorado continues competition Thursday with Avery Pearson in the women's 800m semifinal and Abbey Nechanicky in the women's 10k.
