Buffs Roll Past CD Pavoa, 127-24

BOULDER – Colorado women's basketball continued its foreign tour in dominant fashion, cruising past CD Pavoa, 127-24, Sunday in Portugal.
The Buffaloes showcased their depth and offensive firepower from start to finish, shooting 53.3% from the field and knocking down nine 3-pointers. Colorado also turned up the pressure defensively, forcing 38 turnovers while recording 25 steals and nine blocks.
Mecailin Marshall led the way offensively, finishing with a game-high 20 points on 9-of-12 shooting. Claire O'Connor added 16 points on an efficient 7-of-8 shooting, while Zyanna Walker and Logyn Greer each contributed 15 points. Walker also dished out six assists and recorded four steals, while Greer added five rebounds, four steals and two blocks.
Aniya' Foy chipped in 14 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, while Anete Adler added 13 points and eight rebounds. Sophie Zadel rounded out Colorado's double-figure scorers with 11 points, six rebounds (four offensive) and two assists.
The Buffs' depth was on full display, as all 13 players who saw action scored at least two points. Colorado also shared the ball exceptionally well, finishing with 31 assists on 57 made field goals. Kira Reynolds and Brooke Walker each recorded six assists, while Maeve McErlane added five.
Colorado controlled the glass throughout the contest, holding a 54-22 rebounding advantage, including 27 offensive rebounds that helped generate a steady stream of second-chance opportunities.
The victory marks Colorado's second exhibition win of its foreign tour, giving the Buffs valuable game experience as they continue to integrate their five transfers and two incoming freshmen ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The Buffaloes have also continued to experience Portugal away from the court during their 10-day foreign tour. The team explored Lisbon on a Tuk Tuk tour, received a guided tour of Estádio da Luz, home of Benfica, and visited the Boca do Inferno cliffs in Cascais.
Colorado will continue its Portuguese adventure with additional sightseeing and team activities before returning to Boulder on Tuesday.

Head Coach JR Payne is entering her 11th season at the helm of Colorado Women's Basketball. During her 10th season, the Buffaloes played their second season back in the Big 12, finishing the season 22-12 and 11-7 against conference opponents. CU recorded four ranked wins on the 2025-26 season over No. 19 Iowa State (68-62), No. 14 TCU (80-79), No. 20 Texas Tech (75-68), and No. 20 Baylor (62-53) in the Big 12 Tournament to get to the semifinals. Colorado women's basketball wrapped up the 2025-26 season with its 17th NCAA Tournament appearance all-time, falling 66-57 in the First Round to seven-seed Illinois (Mar. 21). The Buffs have won over 20 games in each of the last five seasons and have appeared in the NCAA Tournament in four of the last five years.
