WOLCOTT, Colo. – The Colorado women's golf team delivered strong performances throughout the lineup as the Buffaloes put together another under-par round to finish 13th at the GolfWeek Red Sky Classic at the Red Sky Golf Club on Wednesday.

Colorado shot 5-under 283 in the final round to finish the 54-hole tournament on the 6,383-yard, par-72 Fazio Course at 3-over 867. The Buffaloes combined to shoot 11-under on the last two days of the event.

"These last two rounds did show a lot of great golf from the team and it was cool to see everybody contribute at some point this week," Colorado Head Coach Madeleine Sheils said. "These last two days, the team was comfortable. They (know) they're capable of playing great golf and we just need to keep learning along the way from each and every day."

While Colorado's under-par effort would normally equal to a rise up the leaderboard, the Buffaloes shifted down one spot from Tuesday's second round due to the field's collective success on the course in the final round. Favorable pin placements combined with driveable holes left for great scoring opportunities across the board. Red Sky played a full two strokes lower in the final round (71.16) than on Tuesday (73.48), as 15 of the 20 teams shot under-par rounds.

Sophomore Brenna Higgins was Colorado's low 54-hole scorer for the first time in her young career, tying for 40th overall at 1-under after logging her second-straight under-par round with a 70 on Wednesday. She had a fantastic start, making birdie on her first two holes and getting to 5-under a little more than midway through her round. Higgins gave back three shots down the stretch, but finished with consecutive pars to wrap up her week.

"I'm so thrilled for Brenna," Sheils said. "She played beautifully the last two rounds. Every part of her game has grown over the last year, and she's especially learned how to manage her way around the golf course. Brenna is just a competitor; she has a great mindset on the course, she always has."

Senior Maya McVey, Colorado's top golfer the first two days, tied for 47th overall after shooting an even 72 in all three rounds at Red Sky. McVey stayed around even par for most of the round, briefly climbing to 2-under after making eagle on the drivable 275-yard par-4 third, before closing with a 72.

Sophomore Teemapat Pateetin posted Colorado's top single-round score of the day, matching a career-best 69. She started out at 2-over, but recorded five birdies over the next 10 holes to get to 3-under. Pateetin dropped back to 1-under at the fifth, but gained those strokes back with back-to-back birdies on her final two holes. She tied for 68th overall at 5-over.

Senior Carolyn Fuller tied for 64th overall at 4-over after a final round of 74. Junior Ellen O'Shaughnessy shot a 72 for the second day in a row to finish tied for 71st at 6-over.

Freshman Isabella Piazza, capped off a successful first collegiate tournament by shooting 70 in the final round, including five birdies on the day. She tied for 54th overall at 2-over.

USC went wire-to-wire for the team title, finishing at 47-under and out-distancing the field by 14 shots. Miami took second at 33-under while Texas A&M and Pepperdine tied for third at 32-under.

Miami's Scarlett Schremmer took medalist honors at 17-under after shooting two consecutive 66s. Pepperdine's Euneso Choi was second at 14-under.

Colorado remains in the Centennial State to compete at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate, Oct. 2-4, at the University of Denver Golf Club in Highlands Ranch.
