Colorado Takes On Top 10 Opponent In Texas

FORT WORTH, Texas — After splitting their first two Big 12 Conference matches, the No. 24 Colorado Buffaloes travel to No. 9 TCU on Oct. 2 at 5 p.m. MT.Â
CU is coming off a five-set win over Arizona, in which setter Jenna Ylivainio and pin attackers Ana Burilovic and Sydney Jordan recorded double-doubles. Jordan reached her first double-double of the season, while Ylivainio and Burilovic tallied their third. Seven players reached season or career highs in the contest.Â
For just the third time in program history, Colorado (10-2, 1-1 Big 12) and TCU (11-2, 2-0 Big 12) will meet. The series record is tied 1-1, with the Buffs winning the previous match in five sets on Nov. 13, 2025.Â

CU leads the Big 12 in opponent hitting percentage (.161) and blocks per set (3.02).

Ylivainio sits at third in the conference in assists per set, averaging 10.09. Senior middle blocker Cayla Payne ranks third in the Big 12 in blocks per set, averaging 1.36. Burilovic is third in points per set (5.03) and fifth in kills per set (4.16).

The Buffs are 1-0 against ranked opponents this season after beating then-No. 16 USC.

The last time Colorado faced a No. 9 team was against Arizona State, when the Buffs fell in four sets on Nov. 23, 2024.
HORNED FROGS ON THE HORIZON: This week, TCU outside hitter Becca Kelley was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week. Kelley helped TCU extend its winning streak to nine matches, tied for the second-longest streak in program history and the longest since 2012. She averaged 4.79 points and 4.29 kills per set during the opening weekend of conference play while hitting .333. Head coach Jason Williams is in his fifth year at the helm of the program.Â
