Alex Boatman is the Director of Development for the Buff Club, joining the team in April of 2023. In this role, Alex focuses on major gifts fundraising and working with donors throughout the state of Colorado, Southern California, the Pacific Northwest, and the Mountain State region.Â
Alex comes to Boulder after spending two years (2021-2023) at West Virginia University as Associate Director of Development and Development Associate . He served as a major gifts officer for West Virginia Athletics and was the development liaison for wrestling and served as the primary gift officer for the Western US.
Prior to his time at West Virginia, Alex has extensive ties to the West Coast. He served as an Annual Fund Graduate Assistant at the University of Washington (2019-2020). He also interned in separate areas within the University of Idaho’s athletic department external unit (2016-2018) while he was a 2-year letterman for the football team as Long Snapper. He earned his master’s degree in intercollegiate athletic leadership from the University of Washington in 2020 and bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Idaho in 2018.
Alex is a Lewiston, Idaho native. Outside of work Alex enjoys golfing, skiing, attending concerts and sporting events, and exploring Colorado.
