Zoe Gasell is in her fourth year with the University of Colorado athletic department, joining the Buffaloes in July 2022 as assistant director of marketing and fan experience.

Gasell serves as the primary marketing contact for Colorado’s women’s basketball, volleyball, and lacrosse programs. She also coordinates on-field pageantry for all home football games and oversees the department’s marketing student intern program.

Since arriving in Boulder, Gasell has played a key role in enhancing the fan experience, increasing attendance, and supporting revenue generation across multiple programs. She helped lead the marketing strategy for the 2024 NCAA Skiing Championships, hosted in Boulder, where Colorado claimed the national title. In recognition of her exceptional service and impact, Gasell received the 2025 Athletic Director’s Award from CU Athletic Director Rick George.

Prior to her time at Colorado, Gasell served as a marketing and fan engagement assistant at James Madison University from December 2020 to May 2022. There, she supported the Dukes’ men’s and women’s soccer, women’s lacrosse, and track and field programs, served as a secondary contact for basketball, and oversaw the department’s intern program and the Duke Dog Reading Program.

Gasell earned her bachelor’s degree in recreation, sport leadership and tourism management from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in May 2020. As an undergraduate, she worked with both the Seahawks Sports Marketing team and the Seahawk Club, supervised student workers, managed mascot and community outreach efforts, and directed in-game production for men’s and women’s basketball.

She also gained experience through internships with the Holly Springs Salamanders of the Coastal Plain League (2018) and Wofford College (2020) prior to graduate school.

In June 2022, Gasell completed her Master of Education in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership (IAL) from the University of Washington, with a concentration in athletic administration. She was honored with a Faculty Merit Award and Scholarship during her time in the program.

A native of Holly Springs, N.C., Gasell is a graduate of Holly Springs High School, where she was a four-year varsity letterwinner in swimming. In her free time, she enjoys practicing yoga, cooking, exploring local farmers markets, traveling to the beach, and spending time with family and friend
