The Buffaloes, who received a double-double effort from Nicole Carr (16 kills, 10 digs), moved back to .500 in Big 12 matches (3-3) and improved to 11-5 overall. UT falls to 3-2 in league play, 11-5 overall.
Junior setter Allison Barnes had a double-double as well, and had a fine night running the offense. Barnes had 51 assists, 11 digs and had four kills on just six attacks with no errors.
'Everyone played great tonight,' Barnes said. 'It was a good team effort.'.
Maragda Santillana celebrated her 22nd Birthday in a good fashion finishing with 14 kills on 28 attacks. Sophomore Allie Griffin had 12 kills.
'The team was together in this match,' Santillana said. 'We have some good chemistry to build on.'
Bethany Howden led the Longhorns with 20 kills and a .400 hitting percentage. Jenny Andrew had six blocks and four kills.
CU will take Wednesday off, and resume Big 12 action Saturday, Oct. 11, at Baylor.
