Colorado Wraps Up Day One of the Colorado Classic
January 17, 2025 | Track and Field
BOULDER – The Colorado Buffaloes Track and Field Program competed in the Colorado Classic Friday afternoon at the Indoor Practice Facility.
Familiar in-state opponents Air Force, Colorado State, Regis, and MSU Denver all competed alongside Colorado during Friday's field events.
Colorado had one event winner along with multiple top-three finishers on the day.
Allie Routledge picked up right where she left off last weekend during the Potts Invitational, winning the women's high jump. She jumped a high of 1.76 meters, a season-high for the graduate student.
Ava Goetz and Riley Ward tied for second behind Routledge, each jumping 1.66 meters. It marked a personal best jump for Ward, narrowly breaking her previous high jump of 1.65 meters. It's the second weekend in a row where Routledge and Ward finished as the top-two women in the high jump.
Jumping 6.55 meters in the long jump last weekend during the Potts Invitational earned Aidan Christiansen a second-place finish on the podium. Christiansen jumped a long of 7.03 meters today, almost jumping a half-meter more than in the previous meet. He once again placed second overall.
Sophomore Drake Miller captured a personal best in the men's shot put, throwing 12.47 meters, good enough for the top finish from a Buff in the event and fourth overall.
Nick Bianco nabbed the final top-three finish for the Buffaloes on the day, jumping a high of 5.00 meters, for a third-place spot on the podium.
