CU Track and Field Caps CU Invitational with 15 Personal Records

640 athletes competed, Friday and Saturday

BOULDER – The University of Colorado track and field team concluded its indoor home stand on a high note, hosting 640 athletes on Friday and Saturday at the Indoor Practice Facility. The two-day event saw 15 personal records fall for CU athletes, highlighting the team's continued progress this season.
 
The second day of competition began with the men's 60-meter hurdles. Freshman John Bass was the top finisher for the Buffaloes, clocking in at 8.71. In the women's 60-meter hurdles, Jada Green continued her strong indoor season, winning her heat with a time of 8.88 in a 22-athlete field. Green advanced to the final alongside teammates Eva Bruce and Allie Routledge. Green secured first place in the final with a time of 8.71, while Bruce finished second at 8.80 and Routledge placed sixth with a personal best of 9.00. Riley Burkey finished 15th in the prelims with a personal best of 9.42.
 
In the men's 60-meter dash, Johnny Homsy (6.90) and Cade Vanhout (6.95) finished third and fifth, respectively.
 
Morgan Pearson, representing Hoka, returned to his home track and finished sixth in the mile run with a time of 4:11.22. He also placed eighth in the 3,000-meter run, clocking in at 8:23.69. Abbey Glynn, competing unattached, won the women's 400-meter dash, finishing three seconds ahead of the field, with a time of 52.78.
 
In the men's 400-meter dash, Danny Tragarz took second place with a personal best of 47.36. Cole Romig also set a personal best with a time of 47.93, finishing fifth, while AJ Galvicic placed sixth in his collegiate debut in the event. Nick Gehring rounded out the top ten with a ninth-place finish at 48.84 seconds. On the women's side, Abby Miller (55.95) made her collegiate debut in the 400-meter dash, finishing as the top collegiate runner in second place. Aubrey Leneweaver took third with a personal best of 55.96.
 
Will Houser was the top Buffalo finisher in the 800-meter run, placing 11th with a personal best of 1:55.04.
 
In the men's 200-meter dash, Johnny Homsy finished fifth with a time of 21.95, while Cade Vanhout placed 11th at 22.27.
 
Freshman Myla Wilkes continued her impressive indoor season, winning the women's 200-meter dash with a personal best of 24.10.
 
In the women's 3,000-meter run, freshman Caroline Mehlhorn ran a personal best of 9:58.67, finishing ninth. Sierra Parks also set a personal best with a time of 10:44.61, placing 33rd.
 
The men's 4x400-meter relay team, consisting of AJ Galvicic, Cole Romig, Nick Gehring, and Danny Tragarz, shaved four seconds off their season best to finish first with a time of 3:11.65.
 
The women's 4x400-meter relay team, featuring Abby Miller, Aubrey Leneweaver, Emma Pollak, and Myla Wiles, ran together for the first time and secured first place with a time of 3:47.49 to close out the Buffs home indoor season.
