THE BUFFALOES: Colorado is 14-10 overall and tied with Cincinnati for 11th in the Big 12 Conference standings with a league record of 4-7. The Buffaloes and Bearcats are just one-half game out of the ninth spot with a pair of teams at 4-6. Colorado has won two of its last three after sweeping the season series with Arizona State, 78-70, on Feb. 7 at the CU Events Center.
Â
With the win over the Sun Devils, Colorado has matched its 35-game win total from a year ago in 11 fewer games. The Buffaloes have also surpassed their conference win total from 2024-25.
Â
Colorado ranks among the top 50 teams in the nation in a few categories. The Buffaloes are 29th in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.6 and 31st in turnovers per game at just under 10. Those strong traits were on full display in the win over TCU. Colorado matched a season high with 24 assists while committing only eight turnovers (3.0 a/to). The 24 assists were the most against a conference opponent since the Buffaloes had 25 in a 91-72 win over Stanford on March 2, 2017.
Â
Colorado's 9.8 turnovers allowed per game rank second in the Big 12, behind only No. 8 ranked Houston (8.1 topg). The Buffaloes have recorded single digits in turnovers 10 times this season. Colorado has a long-standing single-game team goal of allowing 11 turnovers or fewer, a mark they've hit in 18 of 24 games. In contrast, the 2024-25 team only achieved that feat seven times in 35 games and only once recorded single digits (8 at Kansas, Feb. 24, 2025).
Â
The Buffaloes also sport top 50 national rankings in bench points (32nd, 30.2 ppg) and fast break points (45th, 14.4).
Â
SCORING BALANCE: Colorado has had at least four players score in double figures in 18 of 24 games, including the first nine. The Buffaloes have had five games with at least five scoring in double digits.
Â
Colorado had only four games with four players scoring in double figures in 35 contests last year (3-1 record) and none with five. Prior to this season, the NCAA Tournament win over Florida on March 22, 2024 was the last instance of five double-digit scorers.
Â
The Buffaloes have had six different players lead the team in scoring this season and four have had 20-point games. Isaiah Johnson, Sebastian Rancik and Barrington Hargress each scored 20 points against UCF, giving the Buffaloes three 20-point scorers in one game for the first time since Xavier Johnson (27), Josh Scott (21) and Askia Booker (20) vs. Washington on Feb. 9, 2014.
Â
Colorado is averaging 30.2 points per game from its bench accounting for 37 percent of the team's scoring.
Â
Freshman Isaiah Johnson is Colorado's leading scorer at 16.3 points per game, which ranks fourth in the Big 12 and 19th in the nation in scoring by freshmen. He has a team-best six 20-point games, including a game-high 24 points at Iowa State, marking his first of those 20-point efforts that has come on the road.
Â
Johnson leads the Buffaloes in free throws made (123) and attempted (150), 3-pointers made (39) and steals (26) while ranking second in assists (61), and 3-point percentage (.398).

He had a game-high 23 points on 10 of 15 from the field against Arizona State. The 10 field goals made was a team season high.
Â
Hargress is second in the Big 12 and 15th in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio at 3.4 and leads all conference players in league games with a 3.7 mark. He has 14 games with no more than one turnover, including the win over ASU where he had one, while dishing out four assists. Hargress has eight games with at least five assists. Over the last nine contests he has 33 assists against just seven turnovers (4.7 a/to).
Â
Additionally on the Big 12 charts, Hargress ranks sixth in field goal percentage and 13th in assists. He is the best field goal shooter in the Big 12, and eighth in the country, from the guard position.
Â
Sophomore Sebastian Rancik is second on the team in rebounding (5.3 rpg), free throws made (96) and attempted (112) and third in scoring (13.0 ppg) and assists (47). Rancik leads the team and ranks fourth in the Big 12 in free throw percentage at 85.7 percent.
