Colorado Adds Transfer Aniya’ Foy to 2026-27 Roster

BOULDER – The Colorado women's basketball team has signed transfer rising sophomore guard Aniya' Foy (Katy, Texas/Cinco Ranch HS) from Kansas State, head coach JR Payne announced Tuesday, April 14.
 
Foy saw action in 36 of K-State's games in the 2025-26 season, averaging 13.3 minutes, 4.3 points, and 2.1 rebounds per game. Foy registered crucial minutes in the Big 12 tournament for the Wildcats, notching 12 points, two rebounds, a block, and a steal against Texas Tech (March 5, 2026), as well as 11 points, three rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block against Oklahoma State (March 6, 2026).
 
"We're excited to add Aniya' to our program," head coach JR Payne said. "She's a competitor with great instincts and a very high ceiling — her game and mindset fit perfectly with our culture."
 
Foy had double-digit points three times in the 2025-26 season, and she recorded five or more rebounds in four games. She made her collegiate debut against Omaha and registered 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting, including 2-of-4 from long range, four steals, and three rebounds (Nov. 3, 2025). She finished the season shooting 35.8% from the field overall, 60% or more six times, 50% or more 14 times, and 40% or more 16 times.
 
A graduate of Cinco Ranch HS, Foy was a 2025 McDonald's All-American Game nominee and a four-star recruit. She was ranked the No. 4 prospect in Texas (247sports) while averaging 20.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 1.7 assists in her high school career. Foy holds the Cinco Ranch record for points in a game (42) and points scored in a season (694; 2023-24). She also earned 2023-24 6A All-Region 3 honors from the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC).
 
Amidst the transfer portal season, Colorado has also announced a number of returning Buffs, a list that so far includes Zyanna WalkerJade CrookKennedy Sanders, Maeve McErlane, Sophie Zadel, and Claire O'Connor.

Colorado women's basketball wrapped up the 2025-26 season with its 17th NCAA Tournament appearance all-time, falling 66-57 in the First Round to seven-seed Illinois (Mar. 21). CU finished sixth in the Big 12 conference with an 11-7 record, going 22-12 overall and 14-3 at home. The Buffs have won over 20 games in each of the last five seasons and have appeared in the NCAA Tournament in four of the last five years.
