Buffs Battle Through Three Rounds At Big 12 Championship
April 28, 2026 | Men's Golf
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Colorado men's golf team closed out the third round Tuesday at the Big 12 Men's Golf Championship at Prairie Dunes Country Club with a 295.
The Buffaloes sit in 15th place at 35-over par through 54 holes.
Oklahoma State leads the field at 19-under after a third straight round under par, followed by Arizona at 10-under. TCU sits in third at 1-under, while Texas Tech is fourth at 1-over. Kansas rounds out the top five at 3-over.
As a team, the Buffs struggled to find consistency, especially on the back nine, where Colorado's five golfers started the round and were collectively 17-over on the day.
"Disappointing day today. Just didn't get off to a good start," said head coach Roy Edwards
Ty Holbrook recorded 14 pars and a birdie to lead Colorado with a 2-over 72 and sits in 31st. Hunter Swanson is in 41st after a 4-over 74, recording eight pars and three birdies. Brandon Knight also carded a 4-over 74 in a roller coaster round that included eight pars, a team-high four birdies, four bogeys, and two double-bogeys. Parker Paxton added a 75 and Jackson Rivera posted a 78.
"The guys continued to compete the rest of the round," Edwards said. "And if we keep doing that, good things are bound to happen. I expect a good day tomorrow."
