Buffs Set For Big 12 Championships

BOULDER – Colorado track and field heads to the Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships this week at Drachman Stadium in Tucson from May 14–16. The meet will be streamed on ESPN+, while live results will be available at cubuffs.com/tracklive.
STORYLINES
Colorado enters the championship meet with several athletes ranked among the top performers in the conference heading into the postseason.
Avery Pearson enters the meet ranked third in the Big 12 in the women's 800 meters following her No. 2 all-time mark of 2:00.91 earlier this season. Pearson also claimed the Big 12 Indoor title in the 600 yards and enters the weekend as one of the conference favorites in the event.
On the men's side, Danny Tragarz sits third in the Big 12 in the 400-meter hurdles after his altitude-converted 49.95 performance at the Doug Max Invitational, which ranks No. 2 all-time in Colorado history. Distance standout Kole Mathison also enters the championships ranked third in the 3000-meter steeplechase. His mark of 8:32.42 came from his winning run at the Stanford Invitational earlier this season. He also qualified for the NCAA Championships in the event last year.
