Prior To CU—Jones has skied in FIS-sanctioned races and skied competitively in FIS races for the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club starting in 2019. He had some impressive races on the RMISA circuit as an independent skier in 2023, finishing 10th and 13th in the two races on his home hill as part of CU’s Spencer James Nelson Memorial Invitational. In March 2023, he had an impressive performance at the junior level in Fairbanks, Alaska, winning 7.5K classic race and the 15K classic race while finishing third in the classic sprint qualifier race. At the 2023 US National Championships, he finished 18th in the freestyle sprint race.

High School—Jones graduated from Steamboat Springs High School in 2023
