BOULDER – The Colorado women's basketball team (16-8, 7-5 Big 12) is back on the road early this week to face Houston (7-16, 1-11 Big 12) at Fertitta Center in Houston, Texas, on Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m. MT.
This Wednesday, the Buffs head into their first matchup with Houston since their 66-58 victory in round one of the 2025 Big 12 Championship (Mar. 5). Colorado will face Houston for the fifth time in program history, looking to extend their all-time winning streak to four games.
On Sunday, the Buffs took down their second ranked opponent of the season, topping then-No. 14 TCU in a thrilling 80-79 upset victory at home (Feb. 8). Colorado came out hot, scoring a season-high 28 points in the first quarter, taking an eight-point lead early in the game. TCU went on to tie the game at halftime and eventually took a five-point lead to end the third quarter. The Buffs rallied in the fourth quarter, boosted by momentum from a career-high 23 points by senior forward Jade Masogayo. Freshman forward Logyn Greer and junior guard Desiree Wooten had 17 and 19-point performances off the bench, and junior guard Zyanna Walker scored 15 points and had four steals. Down by two with five seconds remaining, Masogayo powered through contact and a foul to convert an and-one bucket and win the game.

BIG 12 POWs: Sr. F Jade Masogayo (Fort Worth, Texas/Fossil Ridge HS) was named to the Big 12 Women's Basketball Starting Five as a Top Performer this week, the Conference announced Monday, Feb. 9. Masogayo earns her second conference weekly recognition of her career, her first in the Big 12, as well as the Buffs' second in the 2025-26 season. This is the 34th conference player of the week (non-freshman) recognition earned by a WBB Buff, which includes honors earned in the Big Eight, Big 12 and Pac-12. Masogayo achieved a career-high 23 points against then-No. 14 TCU on Sunday, Feb. 8, including a game-winning and-one free throw to take an 80-79 victory. She also had three rebounds, two assists and a steal in CU's first top-15 victory since the Buffs upset No. 10/8 Kansas State at CU Events Center, 63-53, on Jan. 25, 2025. Earlier in the week, she had 13 points, five rebounds, one assist and one block against then-No. 20 West Virginia (Feb. 4). Last week, Masogayo averaged 27.9 minutes per game, 50.0% from the field, 4.0 rebounds per game and 18.0 points per game. In the Big 12, she currently ranks 25th for points per game with 12.0, 14th for free throw percentage with 77.5%, and is tied for 18th in blocks per game with 0.8. This is the fifth time in program history that the Buffs were awarded back-to-back weekly honors, including freshmen of the week, and the first time earning consecutive awards for two different athletes. Last week, junior guard Zyanna Walker was awarded Big 12 Women's Basketball Starting Five Top Performer as well for her performances against her former school, K-State, and Kansas (Jan. 29, Feb. 1).
FIGURE THAT: Four Buffs scored in double-figures against the then-14th-ranked Horned Frogs (Feb. 8), the 12th time this season CU has had four or more players with double-digit points. The Buffs are 9-3 in games where four or more players are in double-digits. Versus TCU, Sr. F Jade Masogayo had 23, Jr. G Desiree Wooten had 19 points, Fr. The five freshmen include G Erianna Gooden (Fork Smith, Ark./Northside H.S.), C Jade Crook (Albury, Australia/Basketball Australia Center of Excellence/Lake Ginninderra College), G Isa Hämäläinen (Lorentzweiler, Luxembourg/European School of Luxembourg 1), F Logyn Greer (Lansdowne, Pa./Friends' Central School) and F Sophie Zadel (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights H.S).
- Sr. F Jade Masogayo cracked the top-25 in points per game (12.0) and is 15th in conference for free throw percentage (77.5%). She is tied for 18th for blocks per game (0.8). Masogayo had a career high of 23 points, along with three rebounds, two steals, and one assist. She drew nine fouls and went 9-for-10 from the free throw line, including the game-winning basket. Masogayo was named to the Big 12 Starting Five this week as a Top Performer for her showings in last week's games. She scored a career-high 23 points against then-No. 14 TCU, adding three rebounds, a steal and two assists (Feb. 8). Against then-No. 20 West Virginia, she had 13 points, five rebounds, a block and an assist (Feb. 4).
- Jr. G Zyanna Walker is tied for second in conference for steals per game (2.4) and tied for 20th for assists per game (2.6). She totaled 15 points and four steals against then-No. 14 TCU (Feb. 8).
- Sr. F Anaëlle Dutat is third in the Big 12 for rebounds per game (8.0) and leads the conference in total offensive rebounds (87). She leads in offensive rebounds per game (3.6) and is also tied for 14th for steals per game (1.8).
- Jr. G Desiree Wooten is tied for 24th in the conference in points per game (12.4) and is 17th in free throw percentage (74.1%). She scored 19 points and tallied six assists while going 4-for-4 from the free throw line against then-No. 14 TCU (Feb. 8).
- As a team, the Buffs are fifth in the Big 12 for rebounding margin (5.9), fifth for steals per game (10.21), fourth for offensive rebounds per game (13.3), sixth for scoring defense (61.0), eighth for rebounds per game (38.3), seventh for turnover margin (2.17) and sixth for free throw percentage (73.5%).
