BOULDER-- The University of Colorado Buffaloes are back home at Folsom Field to open up their home schedule against the Weber State Wildcats Saturday afternoon (1:30 p.m. MT, ESPN+).
The Buffs (1-0) come back to Boulder riding high after a thrilling 14-13 win at Georgia Tech last Thursday night. Saturday's game against Weber State (1-1) will be the first meeting between the two programs. The last time CU played a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) team was in 2024, when the Buffaloes opened up the year by beating the North Dakota State Bison 31-26 at Folsom Field. North Dakota State has since joined the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) ranks this summer. The Wildcats enter the game 1-1 after notching a win up the road in Greeley against Northern Colorado on Aug. 28 and then falling to Southern Utah last Saturday.

Five Things To Know
1 - Home Opener: Colorado opens at Folsom Field, and just the eighth time CU has brought a 1-0 record back to Folsom after being a P4 opponent in the season opener. Coach Prime is one of just two coaches (Eddie Crowder) to beat two P4 teams on the road in a season opener, doing so in 1970-71 at Indiana and LSU. CU also won at TCU in 2023.
2 - 1:03: Trailing 13-7 with 1:40 left on the clock and no timeouts, Julian Lewis went 4-of-6 for 60 yards on an eight-play, 75-yard drive capped by a Charlie Williams 20-yard TD with :37 left in the game. The Buffs hadn't led since 12:52 of the second quarter, trailing for 27:15 of game time.
3 - Fifty-One: A run defense that ranked 133rd last year (222.5 ypg) held a Georgia Tech attack that ranked 21st (197.5) to just 51 yards on 30 carries (1.7), four rushing touchdowns and no run longer than 11 yards. Georgia Tech ran for 33 yards on its opening possession, meaning CU gave up just 18 yards over the final three-and-a-half quarters.
4 - 34:09: Colorado ran 49 times for 183 yards and a touchdown and held the ball for 34:09 of possession. CU ran 15 straight run plays on a 17-play, 61-yard drive that consumed 9:07 off the clock.
5 - Three Sacks: Lamont Lester Jr. had all three CU sacks (22 yards) and 3.5 TFL on just 12 pass-rush snaps in the game. He was in on four of the Buffs eight third down stops. He was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week and the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week.
